BLOG 4 - Choosing Between Gold Or Silver Jewellery

School holidays (which have been 400 days long this time around) are officially over - hello sanity.. Working with little kids asking for snacks all day is not for the faint hearted.

This week I wanted to dive in on how do we decide between gold or silver jewellery? Unsure whether to go for gold or silver based on your skin or eye colour, or maybe you’re choosing a gift for someone else? You’ve probably heard about "rules" for selecting jewellery colours, but aren’t sure how to apply them.

And what’s your take on mixing different metal colours? It's meant to be super in right now.

Choosing between gold and silver jewellery often depends on your skin tone and style. Traditionally, people with cool skin tones (blue veins, burn easily) are said to suit silver, while those with warm skin tones (green veins, tan easily) are thought to look better in gold. However, these kind of "rules" are flexible, and I think personal preference plays a huge role.

Warm Tones: If you’re wearing warm-toned colors like reds, oranges, yellows, browns, and earthy hues, gold tends to complement these shades beautifully. I find gold adds warmth and richness to the outfit.

Cool Tones: For outfits in cool tones like blues, greens, purples, and blacks, silver works wonders. I think it looks sleek and gives a crisp contrast.

Neutral Colors: Neutral colors like white, gray, beige, and black work with both gold and silver. If you're feeling bold, you can even mix the two.

As for mixing metals, I feel like its so in now! Feel free to combine gold and silver—start by choosing a dominant metal and adding highlights with the other.
